Bright & Beautiful Christmas Card

How are you doing with your Christmas cards?  If you're like me, you haven't even started yet!

Well, here is one that is gorgeous in person with all the glitter, yet easy to create....my favorite type!!

Supplies:

• Stamp Set – Bright & Beautiful W#135026, C#135029
• Cardstock – Blackberry Bliss #133675, Whisper White #100730
• Ink Pad - Blackberry Bliss #133642
• Misc. – Silver Glimmer Paper #135314, Star Framelits #133723, Stampin Dimensionals #104430, Fast Fuse Adhesive #129026

Measurements:

• 4” x 4.25”,1” x 4”, 4”x5.25”, 3”x3” of Whisper White cardstock
• 4.25” x 11” Blackberry Bliss cardstock
• 4” x 4” Silver Glimmer Paper

Instructions:

1. Stamp the medium star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set on the 3”x3” white card stock.
2. Run the 4”x4.25” and stamped star thru the Big Shot using the Star framelits.
3. Stamp the desired greeting on the white strip of card stock.
4. Attach the silver glimmer paper to the Blackberry Bliss card stock using the Fast Fuse Adhesive.
5. Attach the star white card stock to the silver glimmer paper using Fast Fuse.
6. Attach the stamped star centered using dimensionals.
7. Stamp inside greeting on 4x5.25 white card stock. Attach to inside of card using SNAIL adhesive.
8. Stamp envelope and back of card if desired.

Warming Holiday Home Tea Light Gifts

One of the pleasures of the chillier, darker days is to toast your toes by a real fire, with a book on your knee (the Stampin' Up! catalog perhaps!) and a steaming cup of hot chocolate at your elbow. I've tried to capture that comforting firelight in the little gift I'm going to show you today.
Come and see:  
This little decoration holds an electric tea light which flickers just like firelight. It's made of vellum and stamped with one of the beautiful little houses from the Holiday Home Stamp Set.
  This is how it looks in the daylight when the tea light is turned off. It's very easy to make! I cut a strip of vellum into a 6-5/8" x 3" (17 cm x 7 cm) piece and scored it at 1-5/8" (4 cm), 3-1/8" (8 cm), 4-3/4" (12 cm), and 6-1/4" (16 cm). I stamped the house in each scored “frame” using the Jet Black StāzOn Ink Pad.
  Once I scored and stamped the vellum, I colored the reverse side using Blendabilities; then I trimmed the top and assembled it into a square shape. Tip: StāzOn ink is perfect for stamping on shiny surfaces like vellum, but because it's an alcohol-based ink (like the Blendabilities) you’ll end up with “dirty” coloring if you try to color on the same side.
  These pretty decorations would make great presents, but are you wondering how you'd gift wrap them? Well, that's easy! In just a few minutes, you can make a perfectly-sized box using the Stampin' Up! Gift Box Punch Board. Here are the measurements: 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" (4.9 cm x 4.9 cm x 8.3 cm).
I used rich Cherry Cobbler Cardstock for mine, and I think they look gorgeous tied up with lush Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon with some pretty tags. How would you decorate yours?

Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334)

Note: Each size is scored and assembled the same.

1. With 8 ½" edge of cardstock at top of scoring tool, score at 2", 4", 6", and 8".
2. Rotate cardstock 90 degrees clockwise and score at 2" to form bottom flaps.
3. Snip on flap score lines up to the 2" score. Trip off bottom ½" flap.
4. Punch top edge using the Confetti Stars Punch.
5. Rub Embossing Buddy over cardstock to eliminate static, then stamp the smallest star (from Bright & Beautiful) in VersaMark randomly over cardstock.
6. Sprinkle with embossing powder, tap off excess, and heat with Heat Tool until melted.
7. Apply Sticky Strip to ½" flap and form box. Fold up bottom flaps and adhere with Sticky Strip.
8. Apply 1/8" adhesive just below punches stars, and adhere silver ribbon leaving 5" tails for tying bow. Tie bow.

These cute tea light holders can be dressed up even more by adding Jewels Basic Rhinestones (119246), or instead of the embossed stars, glue some Frosted Sequins (135835) on for extra bling!

How to Make Perfect Bows

Fork Bow Technique

Bows are beautiful and bows are sweet, but sometimes it can be a difficult for many of us to tie pretty bows. The solution? The “Fork Bow”! Here’s a no-fail recipe for to follow to create the perfect bows.

Softer ribbons that aren’t too wide work best for this bow technique. Try the Stampin’ Up! 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon or 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon for the best results. Dinner forks make sweet small bows and serving-sized forks make bows that are a bit larger. When selecting a fork to use you’ll need to choose one that has 4 tines, not 3.

1. To create a Fork Bow, begin with a standard dinner fork with four tines and a 8″-10” piece of ribbon. (Use a slightly longer ribbon for bows created using a server fork). Hold the fork facing you. Place ribbon across front of fork with 1/3” of the length to the left of the fork. This end of the ribbon doesn’t move. Wrap the right end of the ribbon around behind the fork.

2. Wrap ribbon over the top of the first end and thread it down through the space between the center fork tines and below where the first ribbon crosses the fork.

3. Pull ribbon end up through the space between center fork tines from behind.

4. Tie the ribbon ends in a tight knot against the fork. (This photo shows the back of the fork bow).

5. Slide the bow off of the fork. Pull on the bow loops to tighten the bow. You now have a perfect bow! Use Glue Dots to attach the bow to your project.
